Dry Eye Syndrome
Dry Eye Syndrome is also referred to as Keratitis Sicca or Xerophthalmia.
Many have experienced dry eyes on occasion. But for some individuals,
dry eyes can be a chronic condition associated with significant
discomfort and even interfering with optimal vision.
Dry eye syndrome is an extremely common condition, thought to
affect approximately 60 million Americans. The cause is usually
unclear, but there appears to be an imbalance between tear production

Supplements for Preventing Macular Degeneration
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of
blindness for people aged 50 and older in North America. It affects
more than 10 million Americans. There are two types of macular
degeneration: "dry" and "wet." About 90% of
cases of macular degeneration are the "dry" type. In
this type, the deterioration of the retina is associated with the
formation of small yellow deposits, known as drusen. Central vision
loss is related to retinal thinning caused by the drusen. In the "wet" type,
abnormal blood vessels grow under the retina and macula. These
new blood vessels may then bleed and leak fluid, causing the macula
to bulge or lift, and distorting central vision. There are not
too many treatment options for AMD, so prevention is key. Read
